Housemade

a bit of spice & a mish-mash international plate

First of all, YAY for internet access! We are in business. We’ve had internet for a couple weeks now, but our schedules have been so crazy that I haven’t had a chance to sit at my laptop for long enough to post!

Since we’ve been out of comission for so long, I have a HUGE archive of unposted photos. This one’s from the summer, from before we moved out of our apartment. On this delicious plate are three spiced dishes: sweet and spicy broiled salmon (made with paprika, chili powder, and brown sugar – see my post about it here), lightly-curried potatoes (made with cilantro – see my version of potatoes & spinach here), and a nice spoonful of safrron rice. I know it seems like a ton of spice for one plate, but they all worked together. Each mouthful was an explosion of bold flavors that was perfectly washed down with this cooling thai iced tea.
